Outschool is a platform that I've very excited about! There are so many benefits to teaching with this company, and I wanted to go over some of these with you!
What is Outschool?
Outschool is a teaching platform in which YOU decide when, where, what to teach, and how many students you want to teach. You set your rates (Outschool takes 30% of your revenue, and this covers their marketing and hosting, in addition to being attached to their big name).
Pretty sweet, right?
So for a 25 minute class, you can be making MORE money teaching 5-6 students than you would teaching 1 student on a platform such as VIPKID or Palfish. I have teacher friends who are making MORE teaching 3-5 classes a week than if they were to teach 3-5 classes a day!
However- you DO have to create the curriculum for your classes and have it approved.
Nope! No degree required!
Who can work for Outschool?
Because of background check laws, you must be a resident of the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Australia, or New Zealand. Note: This does not mean citizen or native--it means resident. So those who may be Americans, but are living in Thailand, for example, would not be able to apply. You will need to pass a background check as well (Done through Checkr, and they pay for it).
You will be asked basic information, as well as you will need to submit at short 60 second video introducing yourself and basically "selling" yourself to the Outschool team. This is your interview. Yep- a 60 second interview (how sweet is that?!)
After your application is processed, if they feel you will be a good fit for the team, you will be accepted and prompted to complete the background check information. Once you're approved, you can begin listing your classes.
What can I teach?
Well, pretty much. The possibilities are endless!
Photography, poetry, cooking, piano, singing, friendships, book readings, construction, video games, science, history, sewing, crocheting, crafting, quilting, public speaking, work outs, animals, phonics...
Get the point?
If you know it, you can teach it!
How much can I make?
My friend just made $77 (AFTER their cut, so that was what she took home) in ONE HOUR.
The possibilities seem endless.
When and how do I get paid?
They pay via Paypal, about 7-8 days after your class is taught.
I applied on Friday, was accepted on Sunday, and am in the process of having my background check cleared. In future YouTube videos, I will be going over more about my process, how much I REALLY made, and will teach you how to be successful at this platform as well. I hope to see you on my channel!
