I know this post isn't for everyone, and it will talk about some more personal things. If this isn't the type of blog you like to read, go ahead and skip over it. I did want to write about this, however, since it needs to be talked about.
6 days ago, I had my Mirena IUD removed. It wasn't for any one reason in particular... I have honestly loved having it. I've had it for two and a half years...that's over 2 years of no period (well, even longer, since I had mine inserted postpartum), not having to worry about birth control pills, and not getting pregnant.
If you have done your research (like I had!), you probably have heard from people who have had their mirena "stuck" in them and had to have surgery to remove it. I have had no such problems.
So why did I get it removed?
Two BIG reasons:
*Possible cause of Alopecia
If you check out my last blog post previous to this one, I talked about the side effects and how it could possibly be causing my alopecia. A week is too short of a time to tell you about any changes regarding my hair, but I have already had changes in other areas.
3 days after removal, my libido came back. And when I say I had LOW libido, I mean I had zero. The doctor insists that it wouldn't change anything, but I promise you, I was back to normal in that "department" within 3 days.
I look forward to seeing more changes as time goes on, and I will make sure to keep you updated!
In the meantime, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to shoot me an email!
