A lot of things are changing in this world, so for this COVID19 Pandemic, I am going to be sharing my experiences, as well news updates and probably some opinions.
Today, "lockdown" begins at 8pm for New Yorkers (which I am one of). New York is lit up the most on the map of the USA with positive testings and deaths. My best friend from elementary school and her family were among the first diagnosed in my county. She shared her husband's initial symptoms publicly, which I thought were interesting because there were way more and mild symptoms that what we are being told from most sources:
"The symptoms that the CDC and the health department are telling you to look out for aren't just the symptoms you could experience. He had the tiniest dry cough- he'd cough a couple times an hour. His voice sounded dry. Then his temp went anywhere from 99.2-101. He was never short of breath or had a sore throat. He had chills, diarrhea, body aches, just felt off--all flu like symptoms. This only lasted 12-24 hours."
Our governor has been handling this like a CHAMP. I wish I could see this kind of action on a national level! The things he has said, the actions he has taken, have been nothing short of AMAZING. Here is the press conference from today. He noted that this coronavirus could last 4-9 months. The faster we follow the governor's directives, the sooner we can all get back to life as normal (which I'm SURE is going to take a while, but have faith--we will get there!)
So many people have been put out of work with this virus. It sucks- but it has to be done. I understand why, look at Italy.... and the sooner we do it (and I believe we NEED to do it on a National level!), the sooner we can get it all over with, while ensuring we can care for our sick.
Today, I did a Q&A session about working from home on my personal Facebook page. As most of you know, I've been working from home for over a year (I started December of 2018). Doing this has allowed me to take care of my family, while at the same time paying off all of my bad debts, and BUYING my first HOUSE! Super exciting! But in times like this, I really wanted to share the opportunity with you as well, it is now more important than ever that we figure out how to manage the next few weeks of limited or no work, and a legitimate job opportunity is exactly what is needed at this time!
And in case you wanted to see how this has changed my life, here is an outdated video from before my house buying completion (that REALLY needs to be updated, let's be honest here!), as well as a video about my income.

SO.... What did I do on Lockdown Day 1?
I tended to my baby poultry farm.
One of the reasons I wanted a house with some property and zoned in a farming area was so that I could pick up homesteading again. I LOVE trying new things with homesteading, and raising chickens and ducks was one of the most rewarding hobbies I have ever had! With the food shortages that everyone is afraid will happen (they say they won't! I think it's best to be prepared anyways to be self-sustainable. Call me a prepper. It's ok! haha)
Do you want videos on how to do homesteading things? Let me know in the comments!
