This is very interesting to me.
A study done by Stanford University found that if you have a workout buddy, your accountability increases by an average of 78%.
But here's what I found most interesting...
I'm planning a trip from Buffalo to New Orleans with 3 kids and my boyfriend in July. We are cheapos, so we most likely won't be flying (unless, of course, we end up finding some dirt cheap plane tickets. If you happen to find something in the 100's, count me in! We haven't found anything that cheap yet!)
This will be our first-ever family road trip, and we will NOT be eating at McDonald's and gas stations at every pit stop! I know kids like to eat, so I've made up a plan... here I am to share it with you!
When you start a new fitness program (or even if you're continuing an old routine), there is only one tried and true method to measuring your fitness, right? The scale obviously.
(Read on to learn how)
As supportive as friends and family may claim to be, it is increasingly HARD to find support when you need it. WHY?! Why would someone say they support you, and then fail to give you the support you NEED when you want to make change (whether it's a job change, health change, sex change...whatever the case)?
There's a simple answer to this...
If you follow me on Facebook, you probably already know I'm all about those Beachbody programs. I mean, what other company puts out workout programs that you can do at home, and give you so many choices?! I mean.... SO many.
I started Beachbody back when PiYo was first released, and this was back in the day of CDs being mailed to you. I mean, you can still get your program on a DVD, but let's be honest... I don't know about you, but I hate them. They get scratched, the kids get into them and use them for flying saucers or whatever they do with them, the man is too busy with the PS4 for me to use it to play my DVDs, they get lost (or at least mine do... I guess that's part of the reason for my "home organization" resolution)... and to be honest... I don't even know for sure how to operate my DVD player anymore. Is that sad? I mean, we just don't use it.
Everything we need for TV we use on our Roku or our smart TV... Netflix is on there, we have Amazon Prime, all those cool Roku apps, and YouTube is popular in our house for entertainment as well.
The DVD player in our house is just as obsolete as our VCR (and yes, we own one of those still...Old Disney movies!!!)
So I want to say it was about a year ago, Beachbody started up a service that allows you to stream your workouts. There's an app on the Roku/iPad/iPhone/Google Play, and you can cast it using Chromecast, too. To take it a step further, you can actually SAVE your workouts on your phone so you don't even have to use up data to do this. All I have to do is go somewhere where there's wifi, save a week's worth of workouts on my phone, and bam! Beach Yoga- Check. Going over the data- Uncheck.
It's like I can stick Tony Horton in my pocket and take him everywhere with me. Little midget Tony, just chillin in my pocket, waiting to yell at me to do those burpees in 22 Minute Hard Corps. Portable drill instructor. Instant boot camp, minus the 30 second shared shower and cleaning under the racks with a sock, of course.
When they first came out with Beachbody on Demand (I'm just going to call it "BOD" from here on out), they gave you access to anything you've ever bought, and a whole bunch of other workouts, too. Remember Hip Hop Abs and P90X? Yep. Those are both on there. But if a new program came out that I really wanted to try, I would still go and buy it, and it would be added to my library of available workouts.
This is where the All-Access Pass comes in, and it is a game changer!
I NEVER have to buy another program again. If tomorrow they release some new program that I'm DYING to try, I don't have to worry about getting the money to buy it, I don't have to wait for it to be shipped to me. All I need to do is log on tomorrow, and BAM! That new program is right there, waiting for me to get sweaty.
BONUS AWESOMESAUCE: When you get the All- Access Pass Challenge Pack, it gives you access to every workout for an entire year. And to sweeten the deal, they'll send you a box of chocolate... or whatever flavor floats your boat. That superfood smoothie that I drink every single day that has literally changed my life comes with it!
I've had this All-Access Pass for BOD for probably about a month now. I still can't believe it when I log in, that I have access to everything. Nothing is off limits! It's kind of like having Netflix, but all of the newer and better movies are on there too, and not for an extra charge. I LOVE IT. My kids do, too, their favorite program is TurboFire (and that's one that I've never bought).
As a little added bonus, everyone who joins with an All Access Pass gains entry into our monthly and on-going challenge groups. This gives you the support you need to succeed in your goals, and introduces you to others with the same kinds of goals and plans! Our groups have introduced many people who have become close friends. Some of my closest friends I've actually met from these challenge groups!
